This free event, hosted by Scotts Miracle-Gro and Fort Erie Communities-in-Bloom, will feature talks by Frankie Flowers and local beekeeper Anthony Pasto, advice from experts in the field of horticulture and the environment, and giveaways throughout the event.


Fort Erie, ON - Fort Erie and Niagara residents are invited to the 2016 Spring Sprout with Frankie Flowers on Saturday, May 7 from 9 am to 2 pm at the Fort Erie Leisureplex Banquet Hall. This free event, hosted by Scotts Miracle-Gro and Fort Erie  Communities-in-Bloom, will feature talks by Frankie Flowers and local beekeeper Anthony Pasto, advice from experts in the field of horticulture and the environment, and giveaways throughout the event.

Join Frank Ferragine (also known as “Frankie Flowers”), Canada’s most popular and trusted gardening authority and weatherman from City TV Breakfast Television, who will share his passion for the great outdoors and practical gardening advice with hands-on demonstrations and one-on-one chats.

At 10 am sit in with Frankie Flowers as he presents ‘Food to Grow”. Frankie flowers will also be available until noon to answer your gardening questions and sign copies of his latest book “Food to Grow, A simple no-fail guide to growing your own fruits, vegetables and herbs”.

Then join local Beekeeper Anthony Pasto at 12:00 pm and find out the role bees play in our lives, what a beekeeper does, see what a hive looks like, how honey is made and what you can do to help these crucial pollinators.

On hand to offer free advice and giveaways for the upcoming growing season will be local businesses and organizations including Scotts Canada, The Mill Ridgeway, Bert Miller Nature Club, Friends of Fort Erie’s Creeks, Ridgeway Garden Club, Fort Erie Horticultural Society, Fort Erie Museum Services, Land Care Niagara, Davey Tree, Fort Erie Conservation Club, Happy Bees Apiary and Niagara Region Public Health.

Admission is free and everyone is welcome to attend. Giveaways will occur throughout the day from Scotts Miracle-Gro and local exhibitors. For more information visit www.forterie.ca .
