Hosted by Niagara Region Public Health’s REACT group, this event will celebrate the success achieved by the Smoke-Free Ontario Act over the past 10 years, as well bring attention to the new upcoming Plain and Standardized Packaging initiatives that will occur throughout the province of Ontario.
NIAGARA REGION, May 19, 2016 - The World No Tobacco Day Celebration is a fun-filled evening for high school students in Niagara Falls. This event will take place in the heart of Schoolapalooza, in downtown Niagara Falls. Hosted by Niagara Region Public Health’s REACT group, this event will celebrate the success achieved by the Smoke-Free Ontario Act over the past 10 years, as well bring attention to the new upcoming Plain and Standardized Packaging initiatives that will occur throughout the province of Ontario.
WHO: REACT, a youth-led peer group promoting healthy lifestyles, from Niagara Region Public Health.
WHAT: Teenagers participating in Schoolapalooza attendees will participate in a game that informs about Plain and Standardized Packaging and the Ontario’s success and milestones of tobacco de-normalization. Other activities include a photo booth and social media.
