The Niagara Police Services Board will hold a public consultation session with the taxi industry to further discuss the issue of taxi quotas and waiting list applications.

On June 23, 2016, the Regional Municipality of Niagara Police Services Board announced that it has approved a revised Licensing By-law with new regulations of Transportation Network Companies (TNC's).

At the same meeting, the Board also decided to hold a public consultation session with the taxi industry to further discuss the issue of taxi quotas and waiting list applications. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the issue of whether or not to continue with taxi quotas, if the Board should limit the number of owner and vehicle licenses for taxi services and the future impact on taxi waiting list applications.

The meeting will be held on Thursday, July 7th at 8:30 am. The location of the meeting is at the Niagara Regional Police Service Headquarters, Multipurpose Room/First Floor Boardroom, 110 James Street, St. Catharines, Ontario.

All members of the taxi industry are invited to attend this meeting.
