The owner of the boat is 37 year old Guissepe Reinhart of Niagara Falls Ontario. Members of the Niagara Regional Police Service Marine Unit assisted with the search at that time and again today.
On July 26, 2016 the Niagara Regional Police were contacted by US law enforcement and rescue services from the Buffalo area in the United States. At approximately 2:00pm an unmanned 14 foot boat washed up on shore in the area of Wanakah Beach (Hamburg, New York).
The owner of the boat is 37 year old Guissepe Reinhart of Niagara Falls Ontario. Members of the Niagara Regional Police Service Marine Unit assisted with the search at that time and again today.
Reinhart, an avid fisherman is believed to have launched his boat from the Crystal Beach boat ramp in Fort Erie at approximately 5:30am on the morning of July 26, 2016. His trailer and truck were located in the parking lot.
Reinhart often fished alone and was not a strong swimmer.
Reinhart's current whereabouts remains unknown. The search for Reinhart on Lake Erie is ongoing.
