Welland, ON - City of Welland Mayor Frank Campion is supporting United Way South Niagara (UWSN) by kicking off its annual campaign drive with a Mayor’s charity breakfast on Wednesday, October 12, 2016. The fundraiser breakfast “Welland…Pursuing Our Vision” is an initiative to raise funds for Niagara charities and provide attendees with an update on the City’s economic development advancements, progress in building relationships with provincial officials, and how Welland is reinventing and rebranding itself to create a clear and consistent sense of community identity.
Mayor Frank Campion says that connecting the community to United Way while reviewing the City’s 2016 progress not only encourages community development, it also sets a standard for the municipality’s commitment to social responsibility. “The City has made some significant economic advancements in 2016; however, supporting United Way and its social programs and services is equally as important,” said Campion. “Moving a City forward involves nurturing social and economic growth. Both are essential to healthy dynamic communities.”
Mayor Campion’s breakfast “Welland…Pursuing Our Vision” is being hosted at Casa Dante from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., which is located at 34 Lincoln Street, Welland. For ticket reservations contact Theresa Ettorre at 905-735-1700, Ext. 2101 or Daniella Wright, Ext. 2122.
