Make a splash at St. Catharines' outdoor pools

The Niagara Story Place sponsored by Calhoun

While the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre is closed the City encourages residents to use its outdoor pools and is offering an additional 107 hours of aquatic programs, such as morning lane swims and aquafit classes at Port Dalhousie Pool and Lion Dunc Schooley Pool.

There’s going to be more leisure swims, aquafit classes and lane swims at some of the City’s outdoor pools this summer while the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre is closed for repairs.

Both pools at St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre closed until further notice earlier this month to allow the City to make repairs to the ceiling and lighting fixtures in the pool area.

A full list of the additional programs, pool locations, schedules, rates and admission requirements is available at www.stcatharines.ca/outdoorpools. The added programs run from now until the City’s outdoor pools close for the season or when St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre reopens.

Residents can also enjoy City splash pads at Lester B. Pearson Park and Catherine Street Park. Splash pads are open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is free.

The Dr. Huq Family Library Branch and community rooms at St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre remain open while repairs take place.
