Suspect to Identify - Theft of Purse in St. Catharines
On September 15, 2017, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 1 District St. Catharines uniform officers attended a grocery store in the area of Louth St and Fourth Ave. in St. Catharines for a theft complaint.
Officers met with the 83 year old female complainant and learned that at approximately 3:50p.m. her purse went missing. She believed it had been stolen.
Within the complainants "chocolate brown" purse were her house/car keys, credit cards and her health card.
Loss Prevention officers were able to assist officers by reviewing closed circuit surveillance video. The footage captures a female who appeared to be targeting the complainant and following her about the store. The suspect can be seen removing the purse from the complaints buggy and exiting the store.
The suspect is described as:
- - white female
- - 25-35 years of age
- - wearing a royal blue felt-like overcoat buttoned up
- - wearing a black baseball cap with no logo
- - royal blue baggy pajama fit pants with white flower print
- - black dress shoes
- - black sunglasses
