Calling all Musicians: 1000 wanted

The Niagara Story Place sponsored by Calhoun

Mark the date for July 21st, 2018 for A Day of 1000 Musicians in support of Project Share.

Now this is taking us back a few years... Do you remember watching Rockin 1000 in 1974?

This event gathered 1000 musicians to perform David Bowie's Rebel Rebel. Billed at the Biggest Rock Band on Earth the event attracted thousands...

Now VideoSign Inc., and the VideoSign Network plan on doing this right here in Niagara at Fireman's Park on July 21st, 2018 (rain date July 22) in support of Project Share and local music therapy programs. The day will be free to attend. Cash donations or non-perishable food items would be greatly appreciated.

So the call is out for musicians. The event is looking for 1000 musicians (250 guitarists, 250 bassists, 250 drummers, 100 brass musicians, and 150 singers). There are two ways to register to play:

1. Free - fill out the form on the Day of 1000 Musicians website

2. $10 fee will give you a commemorative tshirt with a portion of the proceeds going to music therapy programs in Niagara.

The hope is to achieve the largest CANADIAN rock band for the day playing six songs throughout the day.

  • Connecting Niagara does just that. They put me in touch with key representatives in the area that understood what I was trying to achieve. Together we achieved so much more.
