Visual Artists of Welland is presenting Members’ Art Exhibitions at the Welland Historical Museum at 140 King Street, Welland, Ontario. Please join us as artists from the Niagara Region enter their works of art in this Members’ - Only Show – that is being presented in two showings to allow all our members a chance to participate. As summer brings in new colours, so do artists. By splitting this Exhibition into two showings, it will provide fresh works of art to be displayed, as well as to allow members who have their art already in local shows for the month of June to display their art in the second show.
Get to know some of your local artists - there will be an art exhibition and sale; a display of tools of the trade; a slide show, and a bio binder highlighting our members; also, opportunities for you to meet the artists - days where our members may be doing a live demo or painting live. Art and artists are alive and thriving in Welland!
The first showing is Thursday, June 6 to Thursday, July 18, with an Opening Reception on Thursday, June 6, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided by Mr. Mike’s. Speakers will be: Deedee Alexandre, VAW Co-President, Penny Morningstar, WHM Manager/Curator, Mayor Frank Campion, Jeff Burch, MPP, and Gail Todd, representing Vance Badawey, MP.
A second showing is lined up to start the evening of Thursday, July 18 and continue until Saturday, August 24, also with its own Opening Reception on Thursday, July 18, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Plan to attend one or both Opening Receptions!
This VAW Members’ Show & Sale is open to the public during regular Museum hours – Tuesdays to Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Welland Museum has a patrons’- free parking. The Welland Museum welcomes donations from anyone visiting the museum. We hope to see you at the Museum and share with you this new dimension in Welland’s cultural scene.
