Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON - The Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre is gearing up for their Art Sale on December 2nd to 4th. The event features over 300 works—from oils, acrylics, watercolours, and mixed media pieces—all donated by artists, estates, patrons, and members.

“We couldn’t do it without our generous donors and dedicated volunteers,” according to Rima Boles, Art Centre Director. “The support from the community has been overwhelming.”

paintingBoles said that the volunteers not only helped drive the call for artwork donations but were also involved in collecting, moving, valuation and inventory of all the pieces for sale.

The Art Sale is the Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre’s first major, in-person fundraising event in more than a year. In time for the Holidays, the event offers the public an opportunity to purchase original artworks for their homes or as gifts, while at the same time supporting children and youth programs.

“Art plays an important role in a child’s development. Our children and youth programs allow exploration and creative-thinking through various art activities,” says Boles.
“Due to the pandemic, we had to reinvent the way we deliver these programs. Proceeds from the Art Sale will help sustain the delivery of various art courses for young aspiring artists that we run throughout the year including Healing Arts for Kids and Family-Friendly Art Studio.”

As with previous years, this Niagara landmark will be one of the sites participating in the annual Niagara-on-the-Lake Rotary Holiday House Tour. The Arts Centre will be professionally decorated by the designers from The Charming House.

“After seeing the beautifully-decorated homes and spaces, we hope the viewing public will be inspired to deck their halls for the Holidays. The art sale offers a wide range of artworks that are ready to be enjoyed,” says Boles.

Everyone is invited to participate in this rare opportunity to begin or add to their art collection at affordable prices. The event runs from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm and is open to the public at no charge. COVID-19 protocols will be in place to ensure safe and worry-free shopping.
