“We heard loud and clear from residents that they value the benefits of having trees on their property,” said Ilyse Norton, development horticultural technician. “This is a way for us to make it a little easier for residents to plant new trees.”

Niagara Region Public Health is informing residents that Niagara has received its first confirmation of West Nile Virus in mosquitoes. To date, in the Niagara region no human cases have been reported to Public Health.
Residents can help themselves to a free tree to plant on their own property at the Rain Barrel Sale and Free Tree Giveaway at the Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre parking lot from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., or until supplies run out.
