Members of the public contacted to complete the 15 minute telephone survey can expect questions related to their perception of police effectiveness, their sense of safeness in the community, the importance of community programs delivered, and future policing priorities.

Commencing Monday, October 1 through Wednesday, October 31, 2018 the Niagara Regional Police Service will be conducting a Community Satisfaction Survey on policing in Niagara as it prepares to develop its 2019-2021 Business Plan. The Service has retained the services of Drs. Irwin Cohen and Amanda McCormick from the Centre for Public Safety and Community Justice Research, University of the Fraser Valley to conduct the telephone survey of randomly drawn households in Niagara.  In total 1,000 interviews will be completed via telephone.

Members of the public contacted to complete the 15 minute telephone survey can expect questions related to their perception of police effectiveness, their sense of safeness in the community, the importance of community programs delivered, and future policing priorities.  Members of the public should be assured that no personal identifying information such as their name or home address will be asked at any time during the course of the interview, nor will any charitable donation be solicited.

If any resident questions the authenticity of the telephone survey if contacted by the researchers, they can contact Dr. Paul Divers, Corporate Analyst, at 905-688-4111 at ext. 5008, between 8:00am and 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.

  • Thanks Debi. I follow Connecting Niagara on Twitter and Facebook as well. It's nice to have a site that promotes local events and organizations. We appreciate the support and promotion of our event.
