Some St. Catharines City Services Unavailable on Election Day

While it will be business as usual for most St Catharines City departments on Election Day, the Office of the City Clerk will be closed and the services below will not be available Oct. 22:


Election Day is seven days away but residents don’t have to wait to vote: advance voting continues to be available this week at City Hall and select locations across St. Catharines.

Residents can cast their advance vote at City Hall (50 Church St.) from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The advance polling location at City Hall is open until Friday, Oct. 19. Individuals who require audio voting assistance are encouraged to take advantage of the City Hall advance voting location.

Advance voting locations will also be available this week on the following schedule:

Tuesday, Oct. 16, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Armenian Community Centre, 156 Martindale Rd.
Thursday, Oct. 18, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Grantham Lions Club, 732 Niagara St.
Saturday, Oct. 20, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre, 1932 Welland Canals Pkwy.
Election day is set for Monday, Oct. 22. Twenty-four voting locations accessible by St. Catharines Transit buses will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. across St. Catharines. Residents can vote at any of the four voting locations in their ward.

While it will be business as usual for most City departments on Election Day, the Office of the City Clerk will be closed and the following services will not be available Oct. 22:

Bookings for Civil Marriage Ceremonies
Marriage Licences, Business Licences and Lottery Licences
Freedom of Information Requests
Pensions can be certified at the Citizens First counter, on the second floor at City Hall (50 Church St.). Burial permits will be issued at the St. Catharines Fire and Emergency Services Station 1 (64 Geneva St). All Office of the City Clerk services will resume on Tuesday, Oct. 23 during regular office hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
