FORT ERIE, ON – May 9, 2016: At last night’s Council meeting, Fort Erie Town Council approved a new corporate organizational structure. The purpose of the restructuring is to enable Staff to better support Council’s strategic priorities and to continue delivering services efficiently and effectively.
“It’s been 10 years since our last organizational review and a lot has changed since then. It makes sense to continually tailor the corporation to meet the community’s needs as they evolve. We have a lot of exciting projects in the works; therefore, we need to ensure we are better aligned and prepared for future growth,” said Tom Kuchyt, CAO.
Following an extensive RFP process, the Town partnered with Strategy Corp to implement a thorough organizational review of the corporation. From October 2015 to December 2015, Strategy Corp evaluated the Town’s organizational structure. The evaluation included interviews with senior staff and community stakeholders; a comparative analysis benchmarking Fort Erie with five other municipalities similar in size; and, an internal staffing audit.
Following its research, Strategy Corp presented its recommendations to Council on January 25, 2016. Some key recommendations included the ability to provide residents and visitors with reliable service outcomes and enhanced customer satisfaction by streamlining customer service functions to provide residents, business and visitors with a more integrated, one window approach. In order to achieve this outcome, the Town has realigned staff to create a new department called Community Services.
