At approximately 12:00PM a concerned citizen searched their property to check for White. He was found to be conscious, tired and thirsty.


UPDATE 2:

On June 29, 2016, the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) had continued in their efforts to locate 79 year old Michael White. White was reported missing on June 28, 2016 from his residence in the Hurricane Road and Stonegate Place in Pelham / Fonthill.

An extensive ground search was commenced that involved the NRPS Emergency Task Unit (ETU), the Marine Unit, Traffic Enforcement Unit, Forensic Services (UAV Operation), K9 Unit, and officers from the 3 District Welland uniform and detective branches. The effort was also supported by officers on ATVs. The search was bolstered by the Erie County Sheriff's office, and volunteers from Search and Rescue Niagara, and the Pelham Fire Service. Numerous members of the community took it upon themselves to ride their bikes, walk and drive their cars in the area.

At approximately 12:00PM a concerned citizen searched their property to check for White. The citizen checked a nearby bush area and located White who had fallen. The citizen assisted White onto an ATV and brought him out of the bush to police and paramedics. White was located approximately 1 km north of his neighbourhood.

White was assessed by Paramedics from Niagara Emergency Medical Service. He was found to be conscious, tired and thirsty. He was transported to a local hospital for further assessment.

The family of Michael White and the NRPS would like to thank all the members of the community that supported the efforts to locate him. The support and concern of the community proved to be invaluable in bringing Michael home to his family.

UPDATE 1:

The NRPS are continuing their efforts to locate missing Pelham man Michael White.   On June 28, 2016, at approximately 8:30am White left his home on foot.  White resides in the Stonegate Place and Hurricane Road area of Pelham. 

White has a number of ongoing medical conditions that have increased the concern for his welfare by his family and the NRPS.  White requires medication on daily basis.

search areaWhite was last observed leaving his residence on Stonegate Place, to go for his routine walk. This walk consists of walking east on Hurricane Rd to Hwy #20, then west on Hwy 20 to Pelham Street, then north on Pelham Street to Hurricane Road, and then east on Hurricane Road back to Stonegate Place.

The NRPS search thus far has included nearby brush/wooded areas, residential and commercial properties, and door to door canvasses of the area.

The Erie County Sheriff's Helicopter and the NRPS Forensic Services (FSU) Unmanned Ariel Vehicle (UAV) have been utilized in the search.

The search was called off just before midnight and will continue this morning. Search and Rescue Niagara will also be providing assistance.

NRPS search efforts have been supported by officers from 3 District Welland uniform and detectives, the Traffic Enforcement Unit, K9, Marine Unit, and the Emergency Task Unit.
 
Pelham residents residing in or near the primary search area are asked to check their properties and out buildings for White.

Police are currently searching for a Pelham resident identified as Michael WHITE 78 years of age. He was last seen this morning at approximately 8:30 a.m., in the area of Stonegate Place and Hurricane Road in the Fonthill / Pelham area. He is believed to be on foot.
 
His family and Police are concerned for his welfare due in part to his medical condition.
 
The description of the subject is as follows:
Male, white, with thinning hair
5'7" in height weighing 170 pounds
 
Possibly wearing a grey polo shirt with some red on it and green coloured shorts.
