If you're on facebook, you may have seen the images the last few days. 'Canada is closed Saturday, August 20th from 7:30 on'. How true. Tonight Canada truly will stand still during the final Hip concert being live-streamed from Kingston at local venues. Here's a list of those we know of:
The concert in Kingston starts at 8:30 pm. Most venues locally have doors opening at 7:30 or earlier for screenings. Outdoor events do not require tickets, the larger centres (Meridian, Scotiacentre) do.Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society are encouraged for these events.
- Downtown Grimsby - 5:00 pm
- Fort Erie Fire Department Station 3, Dominion St. 6:00 pm $10 with proceeds going to Cancer Research and the East Bertie Volunteer Fire Association
- Meridian Centre, St. Catharines - 7:30 pm Tickets required.
- Bridge 12 Pub & Eatery, Port Robinson 8:00 pm
- Queen Victoria Park, Niagara Falls - 6:00 pm with bbq and other musical performances prior to the broadcast.
- Romby's, St. Catharines - 6:00 pm
- Scotiabank Convention Centre, Niagara Falls - 7:30 pm Tickets required.
- Taps Brewery Niagara Falls, Queen St.
- Trailside Bar & Grill 7:30 pm Ridgeway
- Welland Civic Square - 7:30 pm
