Beer collectors arrived in NOTL to buy, sell, trade and appraise their collections

People came from Kitchener-Waterloo, Buffalo and beyond for a look at beer collectibles at the Beer Collectors Club Niagara tradeshow yesterday in Niagara-on-the-lake.

BCCA Niagara (Beer Collectors Club of America) held their first tradeshow of the year yesterday at the Armoury Pub (Niagara College, Niagara-on-the-lake, ON). Proceeds from the event will be donated as a scholarship to a Niagara College student studying brewing. 

beer-bottle-collectionsThe event had members from far and wide attend to show off their collections, buy, sell and trade and offer a glimpse of beer history to those dropping in to see the collections or have their collectibles appraised. Everything from bottle caps, coasters, beer bottles, trays, posters, signs (tons of signs), bottle openers, taps, and more. Unique items were offered by local crafters and artisans such as wooden beer bottles and lamps and nightlights made from beer bottles.  Recycled and reused. 

The Armoury Pub at Niagara College was host to the event. A student funded pub located at the Niagara-on-the-lake campus. The pub features beer from the Teaching Brewery also located at the campus. 

draught beer tapsThe BCCA Niagara Chapter is a club for people who have an interest in brewery collectible items. Whether a person is just interested or wants to collect or trade those items….the BCCA Niagara Chapter is the place to be!! This club is about making new friends , helping one another and enjoying fun times together and coming together because of the common interest in brewery collectibles. Members of the Niagara club will enjoy meeting at monthly meetings, helping to organize an annual trade show and other events and making new friends. For $10.00 a person can become a member and whether a person has a strong or weak understanding to the hobby……present members will welcome those whom want to join the BCCA Niagara Chapter.

BCCA…Brewery Collectibles Club of America..106 chapters in several countries around the world… In two years, the BCCA Niagara Chapter has grown to over 125 members from all over Ontario and Western New York.  

Their next tradeshow will take place on June 17th at the Welland Museum, King St., Welland 9 am - 2 pm.
