Niagara Region will be holding a series of public meetings to provide information and consult with residents about future development of the area surrounding four proposed GO Train stations.
In 2016, the Province confirmed daily GO Train service to three station locations: Grimsby, St. Catharines and Niagara Falls, with a fourth potential future station location in Beamsville (Town of Lincoln).
"Regional Council is committed to ensuring the development of the areas surrounding the proposed GO stations responds to the needs of local communities and neighbourhoods. The GO Hub and Transit Stations Study will help us maximize the economic benefits of the growth that will occur from the development of the station sites. We look forward to working with our local communities as we plan for the arrival of regular GO Train service." ~ Alan Caslin, Regional Chair
The Public Information Centres, set for dates in June, will provide an opportunity for residents to learn about the status of the Niagara GO Hub and Transit Stations Study initiated by Niagara Region in 2015. The study will determine appropriate land uses for each proposed site, including scale of development and improvements to infrastructure required to accommodate future growth within the station area.
The public meetings will all take place from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. with a presentation at 6:30 p.m.
