Spring Fling Art Show and Sale in Welland

The Visual Artists of Welland is a non-profit organization that was started in August 2018.  They are presenting their inaugural “Spring Fling Art Show and Sale” this coming weekend, April 5th – 7th, with hopes it will develop into an annual event.  It will be held at Canada’s Best Value Inn, 1030 Niagara Street, Welland (near the Fair Grounds).   Twenty-six artists will be displaying their talents, including watercolours, acrylics, mixed media, scratch art, and more -- a little something for everyone’s taste in various price ranges.

The Opening Reception is Friday, April 5th from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.  At 7 p.m., Deedee Alexandre and Pam Duncan, the Co-Presidents and founders of the Visual Artists of Welland, will welcome guest speakers: Gail Todd, a representative from Vance Badawey,  MP’s Office, Jeff Burch, MPP, and Keith Cumming, President of the Prime Way Group - Platinum Sponsor. There will be light refreshments provided courtesy of VAW members, MT Bellies, Zehrs, and Sobeys on opening night. On Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7, the hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Help spread the news - local artists, businesses, organizations, and community coming together!

For a $10 donation to "The VAW Secondary School Art Bursary Donation Draw" you will receive 15 chances to win fabulous prizes at our donation table. This will run the duration of the show, with funds raised being donated to a graduating student furthering their education in a creative field, from each of the five Secondary Schools in Welland. The prize table has donations ranging in value from $25 to $160, such as gift certificates for restaurants, overnight hotel stays, jewellery, car detailing, photo packages, and sports gifts - all donated by local businesses too numerous to mention here,  but they can be found on our website - http://www.visualartistsofwelland.com.

This event is free entry to the public; a donation of non-perishable food item to the local food bank would be greatly appreciated to support the Hope Centre; bins will be on site for your donations.

April 5 – 7, come out to support your local community and your local artists! Chat with the artists about how you can support your community, and about their art - buy that perfect piece of art and support your local artists!

Editor's note:

We had the pleasure of attending the show last night - a great attendance for opening night. We saw quite a few pieces sold. The artists are on hand, stop by this weekend.

  • Connecting Niagara does just that. They put me in touch with key representatives in the area that understood what I was trying to achieve. Together we achieved so much more.
