Plant-a-Tree Day is being sponsored by the CN EcoConnexions – From the Ground Up program with a generous contribution of $25,000 in funding dedicated to replanting 200 trees removed due to the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) infestation.
Although the plan has been approved in principle, TCN is recommending a significant increase in budget over the next five years. Therefore, implementation of the plan is dependent on Town Council’s approval of funding during its annual budget deliberations.
Town Council approved a Brownfields Rehabilitation Grant application for Marz Homes, committing the Town to 55% of the potential $1 million in savings.
Starting in October, the Town will be launching a new corporate newsletter.
“This quarter will be a new benchmark for the Town’s residential permits as it is the highest on record since 1999,” said Rick Brady, Director, Planning and Development Services.
Sitting in this type of exasperating traffic on hot summer days discourages visitors from attempting to come to Canada, hampers the movement of goods in both directions, negatively affects commercial enterprises on both sides of the border, clogs local streets and major highways and degrades the environment. The evidence on all counts is clear.
Brimstone Brewing Co. and The Sanctuary Centre for the Arts work hand-in-hand to help create this destination, drawing locals and tourists alike to the offerings at the location on Ridge Road and aid in the revival of the community.
“In 2016, the Town will be spending $468,000 for the trimming and removal of trees on Town property. This is a significant increase over last year’s budget.”
