Music’s Greatest Icons is “Playing it Forward” for Community Care, St. Catharines and Thorold with Niagara’s first annual REGGAEFEST!

Some of Ontario’s most exciting reggae artists will share in an evening of musical magic supporting Community Care. Hosted at beautiful Bissell’s Hideaway, REGGAEFEST will take place Saturday, July 9th from 1 pm to 11 pm. The stellar musical line-up will include: Juno Award winners Circle 5 and Jarek and Lazo also Il Scarlett, Street Pharmacy, Theatre Crisp, Darenots, The Steady Rebels and Honey Runners! These soulful artists will transport the audience back to the vibrant sounds made famous by the likes of Reggae music icon Bob Marley.

Co-founder of Music’s Greatest Icons, Mr. Ken Lamb, was quoted saying, “It’s an absolute honour to work with Community Care. We all too often forget the challenges that face many people in our community. They help bring dignity to those in need. We are thrilled to bring the healing power of music to the people of Niagara and beyond in support of this great cause”.

Offered on site will be outstanding food, beer and wine vendors in addition to a handmade vendor fair, sand sculpture and tie-dye shirts to complete this one of a kind festival.

Currently Community Care provides support for approximately 1,850 individuals and families seeking assistance monthly, and is distributing 4,000 pounds of food each day. “Each day we see members of the community come through the door, trying their best to make it on their own, but are simply unable to manage without help. It is through funds raised at events such as these that we are able to continue to provide for them” said Betty-Lou Souter, CEO of Community Care.

Music’s Greatest Icons’ mandate is to raise awareness and funds for causes and people of the community through the healing power of music. We invite you to attend what is sure to become one of Niagara’s coolest festivals...ya maaaan!
